Lost actress Evangeline Lilly is planning to go backpacking in deepest Africa to rediscover her anonymity. The Canadian beauty is a recognisable face all over the world thanks to the desert island TV show, but is positive there are some far-flung areas of the planet that are yet to see the drama.
She says, “I don’t know where I want to go – Mongolia or Timbuktu. Someplace where they don’t watch Lost. “You never know though – they’ve caught Lost mania in so many countries you wouldn’t expect. Africa, Asia, Russia, all over the place.”

Dominic Monaghan is teaching girlfriend Evangeline Lilly British slang, so she can understand what he is talking about.
Canadian-born Lilly confesses the language barrier proved a problem, but she is slowly picking it up.
She says, “I thought if a girl was fit, it meant she was in good shape. But it means she’s pretty. Dominic played me The Streets and it had ‘geezer’ in the song lyrics. I thought, ‘Why is this song about old men?’ because we call old men geezers.
“And I’ve never in my life known that my great-grandmother Fanny’s name means vagina.”

Evangeline Lilly covers up the mirrors in her house – because she is paranoid about how she looks.

The stunning actress, who plays one-time fugitive Kate in hit US series ‘Lost’, says since starring in the hugely popular show she has become extremely self-conscious over her appearance and constantly finds flaws with her body.

She told Britain’s Reveal magazine: “I’ve never felt so stressed or conscious of how I look. If you walk into my bathroom, the mirror is covered by a sarong. I just want to forget what I look like when I get home.”

It is not the first time Lilly has confessed she is paranoid about her figure.

The brunette actress, who is dating her ‘Lost’ co-star Dominic Monaghan, revealed she “kicked up a real fuss” when show bosses asked her to shoot a semi-nude scene in the first episode of the series.

She was so adamant she wouldn’t strip for the cameras she demanded the script be re-written.

Lilly said at the time: “When we came to shoot the scene it had been re-written for me to be in a tank top and underwear and I really appreciate that they made it more modest.”

Taking its next bold step to build a lifestyle brand, michelle-K has announced today that it has partnered with actress Evangeline Lilly from ABC’s drama, “Lost,” to represent the new face of the michelle-K fashion company in its new ad campaign.

michelle-K’s new print advertising campaign kicks off in Fall/Holiday 2006 fashion, lifestyle and entertainment publications, including Vogue, Elle, InStyle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, People and Us Weekly. Celebrity photographer Brian Bowen Smith shot the images at a private estate, an architectural showcase befitting the inspiration for the photos that embodies the spirit of fashion, health and style and focuses utterly on Lilly and the company’s shoes. In celebration of the new campaign, michelle-K hosted a cocktail party on June 15 at the popular Kitson boutique in Los Angeles.

A raven-haired beauty, Lilly’s breakout role as the unpredictable Kate Austen in “Lost,” has attracted notable attention, garnering her the May 2006 cover of Elle magazine and interviews with Jay Leno, David Letterman and Conan O’Brien. Lilly’s love of the great outdoors (ice skating, canoeing, kayaking, snowboarding and rock climbing are a few pastimes) and her penchant for travel create a synergistic fit with michelle-K, known for its sporty, up-market sneakers, sandals, wedges and boots. Lilly’s partnership with the company extends through 2007.

“michelle-K footwear has a fashion flair and independent spirit that I appreciate,” Lilly said. “I am happy to be a part of a campaign that’s promoting a great, quality product.”

The breadth of quality product is expected to expand when michelle-K adds denim and accessories early next year.
