I just added a couple of pictures from the recent L’oreal photocall in Cannes. Evangeline is one of the new faces of the brand, so exciting – I can’t wait to see the work she does for them! Thanks to CarLost for one of the pics!

On the Women’s Health Mag website there are a bunch of quotes from Evangeline to go with the beautiful photos. They’re all about health, diet and exercise – pretty interesting and funny:

“Your mind and soul are the kings of your physique way more than any exercise you do. I was a hardcore buff girl, [but now] I go on leisurely walks and have a swim in my pool. Simple things. My body looks 10 times better.”

“Everyone thinks they can cure stress by adding something to their schedule, like going to yoga class. Oh, great — one more thing to feel guilty about when you can’t do it. I have limits, and I will fall down dead if I push those limits.”

“I’m really into this type of expression where you put on music and literally feel it. I will go crazy — dancing like a little girl who’s pretending to be a ballerina. A lot of it for me is -releasing pent-up energy when you have a lot of stress in your life.”

“Diets are a fool’s errand. I eat something sweet every day, whether it’s chocolate or a cookie or a latte. If I don’t, I guarantee you that there’s going to be a day every week when I’m going to stuff myself, especially if it’s PMS time.”

“Sleep is the number-one thing. I think you need between eight and 10 hours a night. When I don’t sleep enough, I look bloated, my hair gets flat, and my skin goes to pot. If you struggle with bloating, get some effing sleep.”

Evangeline Lilly doesn’t want mega-stardom, but if she had to become a Hollywood A-lister, she’d want to do it like Angelina Jolie.

“No one knows that woman; she’s a complete ice queen, which is perfect,” the intensely private Lilly tells Women’s Health in its June issue. “Why should she be any more? She doesn’t owe us anything.”

Lilly, who says she’s frequently berated by a colleague on ABC’s island drama for forgoing chances at becoming Hollywood’s next big thing, says if she had to have Jolie’s life, she’d choose only one half of it: the charity work.

“Sure, I’d love to be her, but just the [humanitarian] side,” Lilly says.

Even now, she’s not entirely happy with the attention she sometimes gets, saying that she get angry when people take her photograph, and that she doesn’t understand why people keep asking her if she and former costar Dominic Monaghan are dating.

“I loved the episode in season one where Boone dies and baby Aaron was born. That episode summed up everything from the tragedy of death to the miracle of birth. It showed people at their most vulnerable, living with no luxuries, with none of the things we all take for granted. It just got down to the essentials.”

May 17, 2009: Evangeline Lilly attends the Vengeance premiere at the 2009 Cannes International Film Festival. She looks beautiful and I’m so excited that she’s at the festival.

Evangeline Lilly is one of the newest World Spokespeople for L’OREAL PARIS.

Evangeline says: “It is a source of great pride for me to represent a brand whose ambition is to respond to every person’s aspirations to beauty, and contribute to the fulfilment and well-being of everyone.”

Evangeline will have just come from Rwanda, where she is engaged in a humanitarian mission, when she joins L’Oreal Paris for the first time on the steps of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
